“Of all the arts, abstract painting is the most difficult. It demands that you know how to draw well, that you have a heightened sensitivity for composition and for colours, and that you be a true poet. This last is essential.” - Wassily Kandinsky.
One of our gifted Batik artisans, Musa, ingeniously transferred his intangible thoughts and emotions into something elusive, vibrant yet mysterious. For some, an abstract is an expression of something that has stirred the imagination of the artist. Expression of emotions calls a response or the involvement of a viewer to ‘complete the picture’. Musa created this artwork with a large sized brush, dipped in wax, and carelessly painted his feelings on silk canvas. The silk is then dipped in dye several times until desired colours were achieved.
